The town of Bellingham sits in the beautiful English border area, just South of the Kielder Reservoir and plumb on top of Hadrian’s Wall and the Pennine Way.

The rally was located, just outside of Bellingham, in a dedicated rally area beside Brown Rigg lodges.

The weather was “interesting”. It wavered between wet and windy, windy, sunny and windy and eventually, sunny. That said, it held up for the Saturday night barbeque, expertly cremated by a few of us on four barbeques.

Being a very rare northern rally, it attracted some new faces, and we welcomed Margaret and John Sutcliffe with their Safari and Myra and Stuart Edwards with their Willerby to their first rally. Both couples claimed to have enjoyed themselves and even enjoyed the barbeque food.

The weather made organised events difficult, so other than the barbeque, members relaxed, socialised and explored the beautiful countryside and history around us.

Saturday also saw a visit from Alison and Phil Hobson, who were sadly unable (due to many canine dependents) to stay for the evening. The visit was much appreciated and enjoyed, regardless.

All in all, a relaxing, restful weekend (except for replacing a Fiamma awning arm on Alex and Jen Smith’s Hymer) and much enjoyed.
